What if accepting that you can’t do it all is the key to self-worth?

January 1, 1970

As the creative force behind Jules Coffee & Concept and Jules Bakery, Linda Tol seamlessly blends her passions for design and community. With her vibrant and grounded approach to life, she juggles a thriving career, the joys (and chaos) of motherhood, and the complexities of personal growth – all while staying warm and authentic. Below, Linda reflects on her 2024 and the power of staying true to oneself.

Can you tell us a bit about what this past year has been like for you?

This past year was a whirlwind of emotions and milestones. There were incredible highs – the opening of Jules Bakery, discovering I was pregnant with my third child, turing 40 years old, and travelling as a family.

But with the highs came challenges too. My father’s cancer journey was a heavy weight on my heart. Despite it all, we found joy in the everyday moments, and made many beautiful memories as a family. Looking back, it was a dynamic year, full of growth, love, and gratitude. And now, I’m eagerly looking ahead to what’s next.

Is there a moment that stands out?

My third pregnancy was an unexpected blessing. It caught us by surprise, but it’s one of the most beautiful surprises I’ve ever experienced. It’s a reminder that life doesn’t always go as planned, and that sometimes, it is those detours that lead us to the most meaningful moments.

Have there been moments when you felt the need to meet societal expectations?

This pregnancy, especially in its early months, reminded me to prioritize what truly matters. I wasn’t feeling well and had to slow down, set boundaries, and focus on my health and family. It was an opportunity to practice being present and mindful – I can’t do everything, and that’s okay.

What did you learn this year?

The journey to self-worth is ongoing but this year I've come a long way. I’ve learned to accept my flaws and celebrate my strengths. By focusing on what truly matters, I’ve found a deeper appreciation for myself. It’s about progress, not perfection.

What message would you like to share with other women?

Start by accepting yourself – who you actually are, not who you think you should be. It's important to learn how to see the beauty in your own life instead of comparing your life with others. Be proud of your unique self and follow your heart.
