Nestled in the stunning landscapes of Åre, Kajsa Larsson has crafted a life that’s entirely her own. As a professional skier and mother to her three-month-old daughter, she has spent the past year navigating some of the most transformative and challenging experiences of her life.
Becoming pregnant in the middle of my career is something I’m incredibly proud of. It’s not a conventional choice, especially in the action sports industry, but I hope it inspires other women to trust themselves too. One of the most defining moments for me this year was realizing that this journey, with all its unpredictability and challenges, is completely mine to own.
I’ve learned to focus on what makes me feel good. I think it boils down to the belief that as long as what I’m doing feels right to me, other opinions don’t really matter. When I was younger, no one thought you could have a career as a skiing content creator, yet here I am living the life I once dreamed about. It’s a reminder that trusting yourself can lead you to incredible places.
On days when I struggled to believe in myself, having people who reminded me of who I am made all the difference.
One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned this year is to ask for help, and to surround yourself with people who believe in you. On days when I struggled to believe in myself, having people who reminded me of who I am made all the difference. It’s taught me the importance of leaning on others and recognizing that your worth isn’t tied to your struggles or achievements – it’s inherent.
One thing I remind myself of is that every child is unique, just as every mother is. The journey we’re on together doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s.
I’m just beginning to learn what it means to be a mom. But one thing I remind myself of is that every child is unique, just as every mother is. The journey we’re on together doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s. I think there’s so much power in owning that and trusting your instincts as a mother and as a person.
And also, remembering to focus on what truly excites you. When you’re passionate about something, that’s where your energy should go, not toward worrying about what others might think.
